Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Tech Trivandrum collects, uses, stores and protects personal information when you visit our website or contact us. We collect information you voluntarily provide through our contact form, along with limited technical information needed for website security and operation. Contact inquiries are generally retained for 12 months, subject to the exceptions described below.

Who we are

Tech Trivandrum is a training and consulting practice run by Amjad. Tech Trivandrum decides how the information described here is used.

If you have a question about your information, please use the contact form.

Information you send us

When you submit the contact form we store:

  • your name and email address;
  • the type of inquiry, the subject if you gave one, and your message;
  • the course, service or project page you were viewing, if you came from one;
  • the date and time you sent it.

We also record whether your inquiry is new, being handled or resolved, and may add our own notes about it.

Please do not include sensitive personal information in your message.

When your inquiry is received, a copy of it is emailed to us so that we can respond promptly. That email is held in our email account, provided by Google, like any other email, and is not deleted automatically with the inquiry.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our server keeps technical logs of requests: the IP address, date and time, page requested, and the browser type your device reports. We use these to keep the website secure and to diagnose problems. The logs are limited in size and older entries are overwritten automatically.

When you submit the contact form, your IP address is also used for up to an hour to limit repeated submissions. It is not stored with your inquiry.

We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking tools, and we do not build profiles of visitors.

How we use your information

We use the details you send only to read and reply to your inquiry, and to keep a record of it while we deal with it. We reply by email.

We do not sell your information, share it for advertising, or add you to a mailing list.

Where it is kept and how it is protected

Inquiries are stored in a database on the server that runs this website, which is operated for Tech Trivandrum by a cloud hosting provider.

  • The website is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS).
  • Only Tech Trivandrum administrators can read inquiries. They sign in with a password and a second sign-in step.
  • The database cannot be reached from the internet directly.

How long we keep it

Inquiries are deleted automatically 12 months after we receive them.

The one exception is an inquiry we are still actively dealing with at that point: it is kept until it is resolved, and then deleted.

You can ask us to delete your inquiry sooner.

Backups

The website is backed up every day so that it can be restored after a failure. Backups include the inquiries held at that time.

  • Backups are encrypted before they leave our server and are stored with Google Drive. Google cannot read their contents.
  • Each backup is kept for 30 days and then deleted. Recent copies are also kept on our server for 7 days.

This means that after an inquiry is deleted from the website, a copy can remain in existing backups for up to 30 days, until those backups expire. Backups are used only to restore the website; if one is ever restored, expired inquiries in it are deleted again automatically.

Cookies

This website does not set any cookies for visitors, and uses no analytics or advertising cookies. That is why there is no cookie banner.

The only cookies are two essential ones in the private administration area, used by Tech Trivandrum staff: one keeps an administrator signed in, and one protects forms against forged requests. They are never set for ordinary visitors.

Other services

  • YouTube. Video thumbnails on this website are loaded from YouTube, which is run by Google. Your browser contacts Google to fetch them, so Google receives your IP address. Videos themselves open on YouTube, under YouTube's own privacy policy.
  • Links. Links to other websites, such as YouTube or social media, take you to services with their own privacy policies.
  • Email. A copy of each inquiry is emailed to us, and when we reply to you the correspondence is held in our email account (provided by Google) like any other email, separately from this website.

Your choices

You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Send your request through the contact form, using the email address you originally wrote from so that we can find your inquiry.

Changes to this policy

If the way this website handles personal information changes, this page will be updated. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
